Comedy Central announced on Tuesday that Colbert will host a special, "A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All," a one-hour holiday music show with performances by Toby Keith, John Legend, Willie Nelson, Feist, Elvis Costello and Daily Show comedian Jon Stewart. It is reported that Colbert will also perform a number or two himself.

The plot for the show has Steven Colbert traveling to meet Elvis Costello and getting snowed in while driving to northern New York for the holidays. Colbert only gets through the bad weather with the help of his friends and their music.

The special will premier November 23 at 10 p.m., and a DVD will be made available in select stores the next day. Part of the profit will go to Feeding America, a hunger-relief organization that Colbert is involved with.

Stephen Colbert fans can also catch him lending his distinctive voice to the President Of The United States in the animated movie "Monsters vs. Aliens", due in theaters next March. The comedy adventure also stars the voices of Seth Rogen, Hugh Laurie, Reese Witherspoon, Kiefer Sutherland and Rainn Wilson.

The film tells the story about what happens when a meteorite from outer space hits a young girl and turns her into a giant monster. She is then taken to a secret government compound where she meets a ragtag group of monsters also rounded up over the years.
