Born on October 29, 1972 and a certified Saggitarian, Gabrielle Monique moved from Omaha, Nebraska to Pleasanton, California when she reached eight years old. She studied high school and became an all-around athlete from soccer, basketball and even football. After graduating with flying colors, she studied at University of Nebraska continuing her passion for football and then entered Cuesta College. Then she eventually sticked to UCLA and finished her Sociology degree with flying colors.
While achieving her dreams to become a lawyer, she got an internship at one of L.A.'s modeling agency, hoping to earn credits. She didn't imagine that being there will earn her a stint at the spread of Teen Magazine. After that, she auditioned for small T.V. roles such as Saved By the Bell: The New Class, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, 7th Heaven and Sister, Sister. She is also spotted in Moesha, Clueless and her critically-acclaimed performance as Dr. Courtney Ellis in CBS Drama City of Angels that later gained her popularity.
That stint gain her small roles for films She's all That, 10 Things I Hate About You and Love and Basketball as the mean athletic groupie Shawnee. Being a cheerleader herself in 8th grader, Gabrielle used that to fulfill her role as Isis in 2000 film Bring It On that really made her mark in fame. She breakthrough in Friends as the first African-American love interest Kristin Lang.
In 2002, she played as Katie Holmes' close confidante in the movie Abandon together with Benjamin Bratt. One year after, she became Will Smith's love interest in the movie Bad Boys II. That same year, she also landed her first main role alongside LL Cool J via the movie Deliver us From Eva and starred in Jet Li movie Cradle 2 the Grave. The following year, she was casted with Jamie Foxx in Breaking all the Rules, in 2005, she also seen in independent films Neo Ned and Constellation and also she appears in The Honeymooners with Cedric The Comedian.
With her failed marriage to NFL player Chris Howard in 2005, she manages to keep her hot and sexy image as she is hailed #67 in 2007 Maxim's Hot 100. She is also activist fighting for human rights for she herself was a being of sexual assault in 1992. Want more of her?
